How can we know if it is passion or Love?

Through Awareness!
Through the attention we pay to the way we relate to the other.
Do we give Freedom?
Do we allow the other person to be who they are?
Do we speak openly about our desires, our needs?
Are we able to be apart without demands?
Can we give the other person space without feeling obliged or without demanding constant attention and presence?
Or do we insist on the other’s presence?
Do we demand to know where the other is every minute of the day?
Do we dislike the other having contact with other people, who could be a threat to the relationship?
Not that they actually are…
It is only our perspective.
Do we support the other in what makes sense to them, in what they want to do?
Or do we try to cut their wings out of fear that they might grow wings and fly away?
So often we are driven by the fear of losing…
This idea of possession and the fear of losing…
Passion is fragile!
It may feel more intense, from the perspective of those experiencing it.
Yet, it is closer to an end, because the fuel it demands is based on lack, fear, and doubt…
This type of relationship needs to be fed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 or 366 days a year, year after year, for a lifetime!
At every moment, every instant, every second.
And the more we feed it, the heavier we become.
Each interaction turns it more into a burden than a relationship!

Nowadays, we live many passions, we see many intense relationships that drain away easily and without obstacles.
Some say this is because we live longer, and so we seek intensity rather than Love!
Perhaps that is why there is so much tendency to measure passion…
Is it big or small? Am I very much or only a little in love?
Some want to do the same with Love!
How many times do we hear “I love you very much”?
Love is Love!
It is neither big nor small, neither much nor little.
Love simply is!
Either we love, or we do not love!

This happens because there is great confusion between passion and Love!
A relationship based on Love becomes light, because it is a free relationship.
It is a relationship that drives us to be happier.
It is a relationship that supports us.
It is a foundation that grows as we nourish it.
It grows and makes us lighter, more able to fly.
To fly…
To dream…
To Love…
All that leads us to the Lightness of our Essence!
